Altrad are seeking an organised and proactive ER Coordinator to support the effective management of Employee Relations activities across the MEH Programme.
This role will be based in Bridgwater and will support the ER Manager with the day-to-day coordination and administration of employee relations cases, providing guidance to managers and supervisors and ensuring cases are managed consistently, confidentially and in line with the HPC Common Framework Agreement. The role will also involve working closely with MEHJV parent company HR/ER teams, recognised Trade Unions and wider project stakeholders.
Key Deliverables / Accountabilities:
- Maintain an accurate register of live Employee Relations cases, including investigations, grievances and disciplinary matters, ensuring effective and timely case management.
- Coordinate ER cases and associated activities in a timely manner and in accordance with the HPC Common Framework Agreement.
- Support the ER Manager with the provision of day-to-day advice and guidance to supervisors and managers on Employee Relations matters.
- Advise and coach managers on the effective management of Employee Relations issues in line with the HPC Common Framework Agreement.
- Liaise with MEHJV parent company HR and ER teams as required to support effective case management and resolution.
- Support MEH Local Joint Council meetings, including acting as note-taker and ensuring accurate records are maintained.
- Liaise with recognised HPC Trade Union Convenors as required.
- Support the ER Manager with project work and wider Employee Relations initiatives.
- Compile accurate weekly ER management reports, providing visibility of case activity, progress and emerging issues.
- Maintain confidentiality and consistently act with integrity when handling sensitive employee and case information.
- Ensure ER documentation and records are accurate, up to date and appropriately maintained.
- Support the identification and escalation of emerging Employee Relations risks or issues.
- Build effective working relationships with managers, supervisors, HR/ER teams, Trade Union representatives and wider project stakeholders.
- Undertake other Employee Relations duties and responsibilities as required.
Key Requirements / Qualifications:
- Previous HR or Employee Relations experience is preferred.
- CIPD Level 3 qualification, Level 3 CertRP qualification, or currently working towards one of these qualifications.
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly Microsoft Excel.
- Strong administrative and organisational skills.
- Strong decision-making skills with the ability to assess issues and escalate appropriately.
- High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective relationships across different stakeholder groups.
- Previous experience working in a Trade Union or construction environment is advantageous.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, highly regulated project environment.
