Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Shift Leader to oversee daily operations within our Cafe. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a background in food production and hospitality, and a passion for delivering exceptional service. This role offers an exciting opportunity to manage a team, ensure food safety standards are maintained, and contribute to a vibrant dining environment.

Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate the activities of staff during assigned shifts, ensuring smooth operation of the restaurant or food outlet.
Oversee food preparation, cooking, serving, and presentation to meet quality standards.
Manage daily operational tasks including inventory control, stock replenishment, and cleanliness.
Enforce food safety regulations and hygiene standards in compliance with health and safety legislation.
Provide training and guidance to team members on food handling, customer service, and safety procedures.
Handle customer enquiries or complaints professionally, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.
Assist in scheduling staff shifts and managing labour costs effectively.
Support management in implementing promotional activities or special events.

Qualifications

Proven experience in food production, cooking, serving, or hospitality roles such as restaurant or kitchen experience.
Previous supervising experience within a restaurant or catering environment.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide team members.
Excellent knowledge of food safety standards and regulations.
Familiarity with culinary techniques and food preparation processes.
Experience with customer service excellence and conflict resolution.
Barista experience is desirable but not essential; however, familiarity with beverage preparation is advantageous.
A proactive approach to problem-solving with organisational skills to manage multiple priorities effectively. This position offers an engaging environment for individuals passionate about hospitality and leadership within the food industry. Pay: From £14.00 per hour
