About the role
As Market Oversight Operational Business Manager, you will play an important role in helping The Pensions Regulator (TPR) deliver its objectives by leading and managing he operational activity that keeps the Market Oversight Directorate running effectively, ensuring effective coordination of planning, reporting, governance risk, and assurance processes. You will lead the production and coordination of management information, operational reporting, help maintain oversight of risks, actions and dependencies, support continuous improvement across the Directorate, and ensure that key priorities, deadlines and deliverables are tracked and delivered to a high standard. Acting as a central point of contact for operational requests, you will bring people together, build strong working relationships and help ensure that senior leaders have reliable information to support decision-making. This role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the work of TPR by supporting effective oversight, improving operational processes and helping teams work together to deliver positive outcomes for savers and the wider pensions landscape.

Essential criteria:

Experience in operational management, planning, performance reporting or business management within a complex environment.
- Experience producing and using numeric and narrative reports, including developing reporting requirements and presenting information clearly for senior decision-making.
- Understanding of risk management, assurance activity, governance processes and action tracking.
- Experience supporting financial management, workforce planning, project delivery or programme activity.
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple activities, deadlines and stakeholders.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret broad inputs, identify key messages and draw practical conclusions.
- Good written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate issues clearly and gain support for proposed actions.
- Strong relationship-building and interpersonal skills, with the ability to secure cooperation outside direct line management and appropriately challenge senior colleagues when needed.
