Learning Support Assistant

OCL/NJC Scale Point 04 (Bristol Grade 5) + Local Government Pension Scheme

22 hours per week (M-Th 8.30am - 1pm and F 8.30am - 12.30pm), Term time only including INSET Days

Oasis Academy Long Cross is seeking a caring, committed, and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join our dedicated team for 22 hours per week. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), supporting them to access learning and flourish within their mainstream classroom environment.

About the role

Working closely with teachers, SEND professionals, and other support staff, you will play a key role in helping pupils engage successfully with their learning, develop confidence, and achieve their individual goals. You will provide tailored support that enables children to participate fully in school life while fostering independence and resilience.

We are looking for someone who:

Has a genuine passion for supporting children and young people.

Is patient, nurturing, and positive in their approach.

Can build strong, trusting relationships with pupils, staff, and families.

Is committed to inclusive education and helping every child succeed.

Works effectively as part of a team while also using their own initiative.

Has experience of supporting children with SEND (desirable but not essential).
