Responsibilities
- Carry out a range of general building works across residential construction projects
- Lead and coordinate a small team of trades and labourers on site
- Organise day-to-day tasks and ensure works are completed efficiently and to a high standard
- Undertake structural alterations, blockwork, masonry and general building works
- Carry out first fix carpentry, groundworks, concrete and external works
- Operate mini diggers and other small plant where required
- Read and work from construction drawings and specifications
- Liaise with site management and communicate progress, issues and material requirements
- Ensure good standards of workmanship, site organisation and health and safety
- Remain hands-on and actively involved in site works
- Proven experience as an experienced Builder or Lead Builder
- Previous experience leading a small site team
- Previous digger or small plant experience
- Strong knowledge of construction methods and building practices
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Own tools preferred
- Full UK driving licence and own transport preferred
- Relevant trade qualifications or certifications preferred
