Full job description

Lancashire Board & Paper Co. Ltd is a leading manufacturer of corrugated packaging in the Northwest and after a period of rapid growth we are seeking a Trainee Machine Operator to join our growing team.

This is a very hands-on role which involves on-the-job training and mentorship. You will learn from experienced team members and follow an induction program.

This is a highly active and physical role where you will be on your feet and moving for the majority of your shift

Job Details:

· Position: Trainee Machine Operator

· Type: Full time, Permanent

· Hours: Monday to Thursday 8am – 5pm / Friday 8am – 2pm (40 hours)

· Location: Burnley, near the hospital

· Pay: £12.71 p/h with a view to increasing once trained.

You will be taught:

How to set up and operate machinery, including loading and taking off sheet board
Monitor output quality to ensure high standards are always maintained.
Trouble shoot machine issues and make necessary adjustments.
Responsibility for final count and dispatch of goods.
To assist in other departments as/when necessary.
To ensure that the appropriate Health and Safety regulations are meticulously observed and practiced at all times.

Our ideal candidate will:

Have previous history within the manufacturing industry
Be comfortable lifting & carrying sheet board which can sometimes be cumbersome
Be self-driven and work well as part of a team, whilst working on own initiative where needed.
Have excellent time keeping and attendance.
Have a keen eye for detail.
Have a proactive approach to problem solving.
Possess good communication skills.
Enjoy working in a busy environment.
Maintain a ‘can-do’ attitude and take pride in their work
Want to settle into working with us long term.
