About the Role
Eaves Chimney Specialists is a family-run business established in 1986, specialising in chimney sweeping, stove and fireplace installations, chimney lining and remedial chimney work.
We are looking for an experienced HETAS or OFTEC Registered Installer to join our established team.
The ideal candidate will have strong practical experience in the installation of multi-fuel and wood-burning stoves, fireplaces and associated chimney systems.
We are also happy to consider someone whose HETAS or OFTEC registration has lapsed and who requires a refresher course and renewal. For the right person, we are willing to support this process.
This is a hands-on role suited to an experienced installer who takes pride in their workmanship and enjoys working across a variety of properties and projects.
Key Responsibilities
The role will primarily involve stove and fireplace installations, alongside the wider range of chimney services provided by Eaves.
Responsibilities will include:
- Installation of multi-fuel and wood-burning stoves.
- Fireplace installations and alterations.
- Chimney liner installations.
- Installation of register plates, adaptors, cowls and associated components.
- Hearth and chamber preparation.
- Working to manufacturer instructions and relevant regulations.
- Carrying out chimney sweeping and inspections.
- CCTV chimney inspections where required.
- Nest removal and bird protection work.
- Chimney stack remedial work.
- Identifying and resolving practical issues relating to chimneys, flues and appliances.
- Maintaining a clean, safe and professional working environment.
- Communicating professionally with customers throughout the installation process.
Our work takes us into a wide range of properties, from modern homes to older buildings where experience, sound judgement and practical problem-solving are particularly important.
Experience and Qualifications
We are looking for someone with genuine industry experience and a strong understanding of solid-fuel installations.
Ideally, you will have:
- Current HETAS or OFTEC registration and certification, or previous registration requiring renewal.
- Proven experience installing multi-fuel and wood-burning stoves.
- A sound understanding of chimney and flue systems, ventilation and installation requirements.
- A high standard of workmanship and attention to detail.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- A professional and reliable approach.
- A full UK driving licence.
Formal registration is important, but so is practical experience. If your registration has lapsed but you have the relevant installation background, we would still encourage you to get in touch.
Chimney Sweeping and Service Work
Eaves has an established chimney sweeping and inspection business alongside our installation work. The successful candidate will therefore also undertake chimney sweeping, inspections and associated service work as part of the role. This provides valuable variety and means you will be involved with appliances and chimney systems throughout their working life, from the initial installation through to ongoing maintenance and inspection.

Position Details
Job Type: Full-time, permanent
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience and qualifications
Location: Buxton and surrounding areas, with travel throughout our operating area
Driving Licence: Full UK driving licence required
