Full job description

Job Overview

Reporting to the General Manager, the Concrete & Aggregate Shipper will play a critical part in the delivery of a professional distribution service to our customers; planning a day that meets the requirements of the customers, maximising the day for the fleet and as efficient as possible.

On a day to day basis, the responsibilities of the Concrete & Aggregate Shipper will include the following (not exhaustive):

Contributing to the success of the team and company by providing the best offer for our customers; enhancing their experience
Effectively plan and schedule the programme of works; ensuring timely delivery of orders against agreed timeframes
Managing the day to day deliveries and drivers to ensure they are fully aware of where and who to go to, with any issues communicated
Monitoring real time progress of scheduled orders allowing you to identify potential problem areas and proactively resolve them effectively
Providing customers with progress information of deliveries, in particular immediate notification of late loads
Promoting Cardinalis as a respected supplier of materials in tot he surrounding areas

The Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate for the Concrete & Aggregate Shipper role will have the following skills & experience:

Thrives on a busy environment where key decisions are made quickly with good communication.
A knowledge of building materials products is desirable
Experience within the logistics environment is essential
High level of customer service, outgoing and a good communicator
