Job Overview

Semantics 21 are a leading UK technology company specialising in digital-forensics and investigative software. Our products are used globally by law-enforcement, government and investigative organisations, and our work has been recognised through multiple national and international awards - including awards from both the late Queen Elizabeth II and His Majesty King Charles III.

We are continuing to expand our Stafford-based team and are looking for an experienced Application Trainer & Product Specialist to become one of our internal product experts.

This is a varied, customer-facing role combining software training, customer onboarding, product expertise, demonstrations, customer engagement and product feedback.

Your main objective will be to help new and existing customers understand our software, adopt effective workflows and get the greatest possible value from the products they use.

This is not a traditional commission-based sales role. However, you will work closely with customers and may support demonstrations, trials, resellers, tenders and other commercial activities where detailed product or technical knowledge is required.

Responsibilities

You will:

Deliver high-quality onsite and remote application training to new and existing customers.
Lead customer onboarding and help users develop effective workflows using S21 software.
Deliver refresher, advanced and workflow-specific training.
Proactively engage with customers to identify where additional training, support or product knowledge could improve adoption.
Deliver and support product demonstrations, trials, webinars and customer workshops.
Help prospective customers understand how S21 products could support their operational requirements.
Support customer opportunities, resellers and follow-up where product or workflow expertise is required.
Assist with tenders, procurement responses and customer documentation.
Create and maintain training presentations, workflow guides, instructional material and demonstration environments.
Gather structured feedback from users and feed product, usability and workflow insight back into our development teams.
Assist with user-focused testing of new functionality where appropriate.
Support wider company activities such as events, webinars, trade shows and conferences.

When formal training is not scheduled, the role will include proactive customer engagement, supporting trials, preparing training and demonstration material, developing educational resources and learning new S21 capabilities.

About You

We are particularly interested in candidates with experience as an application trainer, software trainer, technical trainer or product specialist.

You should have:

Experience delivering software, application or technical training.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Confidence presenting to individuals, groups and professional audiences.
The ability to explain technically complex subjects clearly and practically.
Strong interpersonal and customer-service skills.
Good technical aptitude and the ability to become genuinely expert in sophisticated software.
The ability to understand complete customer workflows rather than simply memorising features.
A proactive, organised and professional approach.
Commercial awareness and confidence supporting customer, reseller and tender discussions.
The ability to work independently while contributing closely to a small team.
Professionalism, discretion and sound judgement.
A full driving license, access to your own vehicle, and willingness to travel when required.
Eligibility to live and work in the UK.
Due to the nature of our work with law-enforcement and government organisations, employment will be subject to satisfactory background and Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks. Applicants must be able to meet the security and suitability requirements of the role.

Experience in digital forensics, law enforcement, investigative software or other specialist technical software would be particularly valuable, but is not essential if you are an excellent trainer with the ability to learn a specialist technical domain.

You do not need previous experience with S21 software - full product and workflow training will be provided.

What We Offer

Salary of £32,000 - £42,000, depending on experience.
28 days’ paid holiday per annum, inclusive of public and bank holidays.

Location, Hours and Travel

This is a full-time, principally office-based position at our Stafford office, ST18 0WL.

Normal working hours are 10:00 - 18:00, Monday to Friday.

As we work with customers internationally, occasional flexibility will be required for demonstrations, training or meetings outside normal UK working hours with suitable notice, with working patterns adjusted around these commitments.

There will also be occasional UK travel for customer visits and training, together with the potential for international travel.
