Role Summary
As Process Technologist, you will play a key role in turning product innovation into robust, repeatable and commercially scalable production.
Working at the interface of Development, Production, Quality and Engineering, you will lead and support the transfer of new and improved products into manufacture, ensuring formulations and processes are ready for efficient production while meeting quality, compliance and customer expectations.
This is a hands-on technical role focused on process scale-up, manufacturing readiness, root-cause problem solving, yield and run-rate improvement, equipment suitability and practical continuous improvement.
Skills/Experience/Qualifications
Key Responsibilities
Process Scale-Up & Industrialisation
- Lead the scale-up of nutraceutical products and processes from development, trial or small-scale production into robust, repeatable and commercially viable manufacture.
- Support production trials by defining key process parameters, identifying risks and recommending adjustments to improve repeatability and efficiency.
- Work closely with Development, Production, Quality and Engineering to understand formulation behaviour, process limitations and equipment capability.
Process Performance & Problem Solving
- Assess existing products and manufacturing processes to identify technical barriers affecting yield, run rate, quality, waste, downtime or scalability.
- Investigate recurring product, process or equipment-related issues using structured problem-solving methods, production data and shop-floor observations.
- Develop practical technical solutions to improve process stability, product consistency, manufacturability and production performance.
- Analyse manufacturing performance data to identify trends, recurring losses and opportunities to improve throughput, waste, labour efficiency, OTIF performance and profitability.
Equipment & Continuous Improvement
Evaluate the suitability of current equipment, tooling, automation and operating methods for scalable production, recommending improvements where technical constraints are identified.
Provide technical input into continuous improvement activity, ensuring improvements are based on sound process understanding and deliver measurable operational benefits.
Quality, Compliance & Collaboration
- Maintain a strong quality, compliance, health and safety mindset when solving manufacturing problems or improving product scalability.
- Communicate clearly across Development, Production, Quality, Engineering and Planning to ensure scale-up challenges, process risks and technical priorities are understood and aligned.
Act as a positive technical influence, encouraging collaborative problem solving, data-led decision making and shared ownership of process performance.
Skills/Experience/Qualifications
The successful candidate will be technically curious, practical and results-driven, with the ability to translate process understanding into measurable manufacturing improvements.
