We are looking for someone to #JoinUs as a Secretary/Personal Assistant to the BCU Senior Command Team within the Cardiff & Vale Basic Command Unit (BCU), working 18.5 hours per week. Could you be who we are looking for?

About the Team/Department you will be joining:
South Wales Police embraces diversity and welcomes applications from everyone with the necessary skills to become a Secretary/Personal Assistant, providing secretarial and administrative support for our Senior Management Team.

About the role and your key responsibilities:
In a multi-functional environment, the role of Secretary will include:

Typing/Word processing of often highly confidential, politically sensitive documents

Screening of high-volume emails and calls and day to day and critical management of Senior Management Team calendars /schedules.

Prepare meeting agendas, record and distribute strategic minutes & track critical action logs for a wide range of internal and partnership meetings.

Manage online group mailboxes & mail track correspondence and oversee meeting room bookings.

What skills and experience do we need you to bring to the role:

We are looking for assertive applicants who will present a positive image as they will be required to engage with members of the Public, Partners, in addition to internal employees of various ranks.

Must be a confident communicator and be capable of managing busy Senior Command Team schedules.

Must have excellent keyboard and numeracy skills.

Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

Must have previous secretarial and administrative experience preferably within a large organisation and should be comfortable using their initiative and working autonomously.

The successful Candidate must be willing to undergo vetting to MV/SC Vetting.
