DOOR CONSTRUCTOR

Overall Job Purpose

We are seeking reliable and motivated people to join our production team as Door
Constructors (Assembly Operatives) within our Composite assembly area. This is a
hands-on role where you’ll be manufacturing high-quality specialist doors, ensuring
standards of accuracy, safety, and quality are maintained throughout the process. The
role requires attention to detail, teamwork, and the ability to work flexibly to meet
production demands.

Key Responsibilities

Assemble door components in line with specifications and quality standards
Operate manufacturing machinery and hand tools (training provided)
Carry out quality checks to ensure standards are of a high level
Maintain equipment and ensure a clean, safe working environment
Interpret technical drawings and follow manufacturing instructions
Collaborate with colleagues across departments to meet production targets.

Person Specification
All criteria detailed below are essential, unless stated as “D” (desirable).

Criteria Competency

Education and Technical qualification in an engineering subject (Mechanical or
Qualifications Electrical) to minimum HNC level (D)

Qualification in Managing Health & Safety: IOSH or NEBOSH (D)
Certificate or Diploma in Industrial Door Safety from the Door &

Hardware Federation (DHF) (D)

Experience, In depth knowledge and competence in industrial and specialist
Knowledge and door or similar service industry.
Understanding Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar service sales/accounts

management role.

Show Knowledgeable and confidence in dealing with colleagues to

ensure they are following correct procedures.

Good knowledge and understanding of Service customer concepts

and use of relationship database (Siclops or equivalent).

Understanding and achieving Key Performance Indicators.

Skills Strong planning and organisational skills.

Strong commercial awareness and ability to manage situations

and customers’ expectations to achieve win-win outcomes.

Technical knowledge of company products and those of other

manufacturers (D).

Ability to co-ordinate with Service supervisors, managers,
customers and engineers.
Strong people and communication skills with team members and

customers

Personal Qualities Hard-working and motivated.
