Job Summary
Dalston Hall is seeking a reliable and skilled Maintenance & Grounds Technician to help maintain our historic property, facilities, and surrounding grounds to the highest standard. This is a varied, hands-on role combining building and equipment maintenance with gardening and groundskeeping duties. The successful candidate will take pride in ensuring Dalston Hall remains safe, well-presented, and operational for our guests, visitors, and events.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs across the Hall, outbuildings, and facilities.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical faults.
- Undertake general maintenance tasks including painting, basic plumbing, carpentry, and welding where required.
- Maintain gardens, lawns, flower beds, hedges, trees, and landscaped areas throughout the estate.
- Operate grounds maintenance equipment including mowers, strimmers, and hedge cutters.
- Ensure pathways, car parks, driveways, and outdoor areas are clean, safe, and well-presented.
- Assist with seasonal grounds projects, planting, pruning, and leaf clearance.
- Maintain maintenance and grounds records and report any issues requiring attention.
- Support the setup and upkeep of the venue for weddings, events, and guest activities.
- Work safely and professionally while delivering excellent service to colleagues and guests.
Qualifications & Experience
- Previous experience in property maintenance, facilities management, groundskeeping, or a similar role.
- Good practical skills with mechanical and electrical systems.
- Experience in gardening, landscaping, or grounds maintenance.
- Ability to use maintenance and gardening equipment safely and effectively.
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A proactive, flexible approach and pride in maintaining high standards.

Pay: £13.00-£13.50 per hour
