Job Summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic, organised, and customer focused Shop Manager to lead the daily operations of our busy convenience store located within
Auchenlarie Holiday Park. This role is responsible for ensuring excellent customer service, maintaining high retail standards, managing stock, leading the store team, and maximising sales while creating a welcoming shopping experience for holiday guests and park residents.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily running of the convenience store.
- Ensure the store is clean, well-stocked, safe, and presented to a high standard at all times.
- Manage cash handling and daily financial reconciliations.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, licensing requirements, food hygiene standards, and health and safety regulations.
- Recruit, train, supervise, and motivate store staff.
- Prepare staff rotas to meet seasonal demand and business needs.
- Monitor stock levels and place orders to ensure product availability.
- Manage deliveries, stock rotation, merchandising, and waste control.
- Carry out regular stock takes and minimise stock loss through effective controls.
- Monitor sales performance and identify opportunities to increase revenue.
- Ensure promotional displays are implemented effectively.
Skills and Experience
- Previous retail management or supervisory experience, preferably within a convenience or food retail environment.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Good organisational and time management abilities.
- Experience in stock control.
- Knowledge of food safety, age restricted sales, and health and safety requirements is desirable.

Working Hours
This is a full-time position and will include weekends, bank holidays, and peak holiday periods. Flexibility is essential, as the business operates seven days a week.
Working 40 hours per week during the main season February to October with reduced hours of approximately 20 from November to January.
