The standard working week for full time staff is 37 hours, with a minimum 30-minute unpaid lunch break each day. We have a range of formal and informal flexible working options, and offer generous paid leave.

Annual leave is 25 days per year on joining The National Lottery Community Fund plus bank holidays, rising by one day every year of employment up to a total of 30 days. An additional three days of leave is given every year normally at Christmas. Your entitlement will vary according to your date of appointment, and is pro rata for part-time employees.
Salary progression is based on the percentage increase allocated by HM Treasury on an annual basis. In addition to your salary, we offer several financial benefits.
The Fund operates 2 pension schemes, Alpha, our Principal Civil Service Pension Scheme (PCSPS) and a Partnership Pension Scheme with Legal & General.
For Alpha, the employers contribution is between 26.6% and 30.3% and the employee contributions rates are between 4.6% and 8.05% depending on salary.
For Partnership, the employers contribution rate is between 8% to 14.75% of your earnings. You do not have to contribute to this scheme, but if you do, the Fund will match your contributions up to 3% of your pensionable pay.

Staff who are eligible for statutory maternity pay will receive full pay for the first 22 weeks of their maternity leave, plus enhanced pay benefits.
Staff who are eligible for statutory paternity pay will receive 10 days full pay, plus enhanced pay benefits.
We also offer the option of shared parental leave with enhanced pay, for eligible staff.
Staff who have worked with us for one year are entitled to one week's parental leave on full pay per year if they have one or more child under the age of eight. This is in addition to their annual leave entitlement.
Employees can request up to three days paid leave per year for volunteering.
Staff may take up to 18 days paid leave per year to undertake public duties.
Staff with two years service can request an unpaid career break of up to 50 weeks every five years to undertake study leave, a sabbatical, volunteering, travel or to spend an extended period with their children beyond their parental leave entitlement.
