HGV Technician

Salary: £53,773.20 per annum

Working 45 hours per week, Monday to Friday 07:00 - 17:30

An exciting opportunity has become available at NRG Riverside within our Waltham Cross depot and we are looking for a experienced HGV Technicians to join the team and help us on our journey to growth. In this role, you will be responsible for the service and repair of a wide variety of vehicles including RCVs (refuse Collection Vehicles). Specialist training will be provided where needed, to develop your existing skills to support our specialist assets. NRG Riverside is the UK’s largest municipal and specialist fleet hire company, we provide specialist vehicles on short and long-term hire, a range of vehicle maintenance packages and we offer a large portfolio of high-quality used vehicles for sale. NRG Riverside has the skills, knowledge, and expertise to support all your operational needs. Established in 1996, we’ve supported our valued customers to rationalise and decarbonise their fleets, save money and improve efficiency by reducing ‘Vehicle Off Road’ (VOR) time.

What candidate are we looking for?

Experience from within a HGV Technician/ HGV Mechanic/ HGV Engineer/ Fleet Engineer role
Municipal experience including working on RCVs (Refuse Collection Vehicles) is a plus
Tacho calibration, repairs and wheel alignment
HGV Technical qualification - NVQ or City and Guilds equivalent.
Class 2 licence preferred.
Experience of working in a similar role with an understanding of the HGV industry.
Excellent customer service.
Great team player whilst also able to work on own initiative.
Awareness and understanding of Health and Safety practices.
Qualified HGV Technician (Level 3 NVQ, City & Guilds or equivalent).
Experience working on refrigerated vehicles or trailer refrigeration units.
Good diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
Refrigeration certification (F-Gas qualification advantageous).
Experience with Thermo King, Carrier Transicold or Hollstein systems.

What will be your duties?

As the HGV Technician you will undertake routine inspection & repair of internal & external customers vehicles within the NRG workshop estate
Undertake commercial vehicle MOT inspections, repair, and final preparation for MOT test
Attend breakdowns, diagnose, and complete necessary repairs to a high standard
Complete all compliance paperwork associated with the repair and maintenance of the rental fleet
Carry out servicing, maintenance and repairs on HGVs.
Diagnose and repair faults on refrigeration systems (Thermo King, Carrier, or similar).
Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance.
Carry out electrical, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic repairs.
Ensure all work complies with DVSA and health & safety regulations.
