Splash Art Republic Sheffield is looking for creative and people-focused Studio Assistants to deliver our fantastic sessions!
Think splatter painting, spin art, pour art, and paint-fuelled joy for all ages and abilities. This isn’t a quiet gallery, it’s a colourful, energetic, and inclusive experience for anyone who’s ever wanted to unleash their inner artist.

About Splash Art Republic
We’re a small, family-run creative business that launched in Nottingham in December 2024 and quickly made a splash! Following our success, we expanded to Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter and we’re excited come to Sheffield in summer 2026! Our immersive art studio invites people of all backgrounds and abilities to enjoy hands-on creativity in a fun, relaxed environment.

Hours & salary
· Zero Hours / Part-Time (Wednesday-Sunday) 5-12 hours per week on average, with additional shifts available during peak times.
· £12.75
· Flexible working hours to be rostered 4 weeks in advance.
· Regular weekend working will be required
*This role is NOT seasonal and is not suitable for students who wish to return home every holiday period, cover will be required year-round.
Person Specification
Ideally educated to A Level, you must be a creative person with a background in visual art (particularly acrylic, oil and watercolour painting) with a fun, accessible and encouraging approach to leading art activities with people of all ages and backgrounds. The most important element of this role is your ability to communicate well. Our site is fast-paced, busy and can be beautifully chaotic so you will need a big personality to organise and facilitate our activities. This post will involve working directly with customers to provide an outstanding experience for all our budding artists, so customer experience must be important to you. The role would suit someone with previous hospitality experience, facilitation or group work experience and it is essential that you are outgoing, lively and confidently speak publicly in front of groups of varying size as these will include families, friends, corporates, children's birthday parties, baby showers and hen/stag do's etc. We expect all of our staff to be pro-active, bubbly, positive and reliable team members who are respectful of diversity and are pleasant and likeable to work with. Although one element of the job is creative and public facing, we want to make it clear that it also involves a huge amount of resource management including washing up and preparing paint, brushes and tools and general cleaning of our facilities. This is a very active but super-fun and rewarding role.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
· Act as host, facilitator and art mentor, representing the company in a positive manner.
· Welcome customers and create a friendly, inviting atmosphere in the studio.
· Provide information about activities, classes, services, and products.
· Answer phone calls, respond to emails, and manage social media inquiries.
· Assist in merchandising and display of retail items.
· Facilitate the overall art experience for visitors, guiding them through the process from selection to painting.
· Provide thorough instruction and tips on painting techniques, ensuring a satisfying creative experience for customers of all skill levels.
· Assist in handling bookings, registrations, and payments.
· Contribute to maintaining a clean and organized studio environment, ensuring a pleasant experience for all visitors.
Studio Operations
· Maintain and clean the studios and equipment, keeping tools in good operating order, including weekly and monthly maintenance.

· Operate all equipment safely and adhere to proper handling of all products in the studio according to company standards.
· Follow all Health and Safety procedures and standards.
· Maintain and mix studio paints.
· Assist the Studio Manager with inventory and restocking supplies.
· Provide technical support to users and staff to ensure equipment is used properly and safely
Administrative Support
· Address customer inquiries and provide information on studio offerings, class schedules, and events.
· Handle bookings, payments, and check guests in.
· Participate in marketing activities, create and share product ideas, advise on new service ideas, and actively contribute to business development and innovation.
· Provide ongoing administrative support to the business manager and other senior staff members. This may include content writing, support with marketing materials, taking pictures of new or existing products, proofreading, and other administrative tasks related to business development.
· Support newly starting colleagues in onboarding and day-to-day training; provide feedback to the line manager.
· Communicate regularly with the Studio Manager about any problems or recommendations regarding equipment and facilities that may affect the safe operation of the studio.
· Maintain maintenance and safety logs for the studio equipment.
· Ensure the safety of all users while in the studio and document all accidents and incidents immediately.
Team Collaboration and Support
· Work closely with other team members to ensure cohesive and efficient studio operations.
· Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for improving the customer experience and studio operations where appropriate.
· Assist in setting up for classes, workshops, birthday parties and special events.
· Demonstrate passion and enthusiasm in supporting the business and other staff members on all administrative and operational tasks.
