Job Overview

Join our dynamic culinary team as a Kitchen Porter, where you'll play a vital role in maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment. This energetic position offers the opportunity to support chefs and kitchen staff by ensuring all areas are hygienic and well-stocked, enabling smooth restaurant or hotel operations. Your dedication will help uphold high standards of cleanliness and safety, contributing directly to an exceptional dining experience for our guests.

Duties

Assist with food preparation tasks under supervision, including washing vegetables, peeling, and basic ingredient handling
Maintain cleanliness of all kitchen surfaces, utensils, equipment, and floors to meet health and safety standards
Support the storage of ingredients and supplies by organizing stock in designated areas
Ensure all dishes, cookware, and kitchen tools are properly cleaned and sanitized after use
Help with waste disposal and recycling procedures to keep the kitchen tidy and environmentally friendly
Support serving staff during busy service times by clearing tables and assisting with basic hospitality tasks when needed
Follow health and safety regulations diligently to create a safe working environment for everyone

Requirements

Previous experience in a restaurant, hotel, or hospitality setting is advantageous but not essential; enthusiasm to learn is key
Basic understanding of food hygiene standards and safety procedures
Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting heavy items, standing for extended periods, and bending or kneeling as required
Strong teamwork skills with a positive attitude toward supporting colleagues
Good communication skills to follow instructions clearly and efficiently
Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed in a fast-paced environment
A genuine interest in culinary arts or hospitality is a plus but not mandatory
