The Role
We have an exciting permanent opportunity for a Learning Technology Developer to join our Technical College team. This role is based the International Aviation Academy Norwich (IAAN) and is Monday – Friday, 37.5 hours per week.
Key Responsibilities
This role is an integral part of our Technical College team, designing, developing and producing e-training in line with company requirements and regulations, as well as managing our virtual learning and other learner management systems.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and delivering digital learning content with subject matter experts
- Producing digital learning courses/lessons in line with published continuation training programme/timescales
- Producing additional digital learning course material as required by Leadership Team, Safety and Compliance, and Managers
- Managing the Learner Management Systems (LMS) / Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) and Training Website (including training event purchase management system)
- Ensuring that the company training website pages accurately reflects available online training
- Ensuring digital learning compliance courses and lessons meet regulatory requirements as well as requirements of our Safety and Compliance Department & appropriate service level agreement
- Designing and delivering digital and printed media, including e-learning content, videos, and posters, to support KLMUKE's process improvement and promotional activities
- Ensuring users are set up on the relevant system(s) promptly
- Producing reports for Department Managers, Administrators and Third-party customers as required
- Monitoring student forums and e-learning phone/inbox to ensure timely responses to queries
- Researching, identifying and implementing learning technologies, and recommending improvements to the Head of Technical College
- Incorporating existing technology into training courses to enhance user engagement and knowledge retention
- Act as technical expert to support instructors in incorporating technology/multimedia into their lessons
- Adhering to the college safeguarding policy and processes and undertake regular safeguarding training as required.
Selection Criteria
- Educated to Level 3 standard or above in a discipline relevant to Learning Technology, Digital Learning, Education, Media Production, Graphic Design, or a related field.
- Qualification, certification, or demonstrable experience in Instructional Design, Learning Design, or Instructional Techniques.
- Sound knowledge of learning design principles, instructional methodologies, graphic design, and multimedia content creation and editing.
- Knowledge and practical experience of Learning Management Systems (LMS), Virtual Learning Environments (VLE), e-learning platforms, and training event purchase management systems.
- Experience in the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of digital learning content and e-learning courses.
- Experience using e-learning authoring tools such as Articulate 360, Rise, Storyline, Adobe Creative Suite, or equivalent.
- Understanding of learner engagement techniques and the effective use of multimedia to support knowledge retention and performance improvement.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), instructors, managers, and stakeholders.
- Educated to Level 3 standard or above in an aviation or engineering field.
Skills and Behaviours
As the ideal candidate, you will:
- Have excellent working knowledge of: Learner Management Systems (LMS) / Virtual Learning Environments (VLE), video/image editing applications (such as Adobe Premier Pro, After Effects and Photoshop), word, Excel, PowerPoint, Email systems with ability to become competent on new systems.
- Have a good understanding of Articulate 360 or similar digital learning authoring software tools
- Have proven experience in developing/managing digital learning courses and/or Learner Management Systems, Virtual Learning Environments
- Have a good understanding of individual learning styles
- Communicate openly, honestly and respectfully at all times
- Develop relationships based on trust
- Evaluate priorities and options in order to make successful, timely operational decisions
- Embrace and contribute to change
- Have experience managing digital learning projects from concept through to implementation (desirable)
- Have experience within an aviation, engineering, compliance, or regulated training environment (desirable)
- Have experience of analysing learner data, training metrics, and user feedback to support continuous improvement of digital learning solutions (desirable)
- Have knowledge of training event purchase management systems (desirable)
