Full job description

We are looking for a Trainee Freight Clerk to join our team in Coleshill. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to begin a career in the logistics industry, with full training and on-the-job learning provided.

What you’ll learn

Coordinate international shipments and road freight operations
Prepare and manage customs and shipping documentation
Learn how to complete HMRC customs declarations
Understand import and export procedures and regulations
Arrange shipment bookings and communicate with customers and transport providers
Prepare sales quotes, costings and invoices
Use industry-specific freight and logistics software
Develop your knowledge of international geography, transit times and time zones
Learn about Incoterms and international trade requirements

What we’re looking for

You don't need previous experience in freight forwarding or logistics. We are looking for someone who is:

Organised and able to manage multiple tasks
A good communicator
Confident using computers
Accurate and attentive to detail
Keen to learn and develop
Reliable and professional

Entry requirements: Ideally, 5 GCSEs at Grade 4/C or above, including English and Maths

Pay: Up to £25,000.00 per year
