Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Bricklayer/Builder to join our construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for executing a variety of masonry and building tasks, ensuring high standards of craftsmanship and safety. Structural work knowledge would be preferable.
Responsibilities
- Lay bricks, blocks, and stones accurately according to project specifications and drawings
- Mix mortar and prepare materials required for masonry work
- Use hand tools such as trowels, levels, hammers, and chisels effectively
- Operate power tools including drills, saws, and grinders safely and efficiently
- Assist with carpentry tasks related to building frameworks or formwork when necessary
- Perform roofing tasks as required, ensuring proper installation and sealing
- Carry out welding tasks where applicable, adhering to safety standards
- Maintain a clean and organised worksite, ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times
- Collaborate with other tradespeople such as roofers, carpenters, and masons to complete projects on time
- Structural work knowledge
Experience
- Proven experience in bricklaying or masonry work is essential
- Familiarity with the use of hand tools and power tools in construction environments
- Knowledge of basic carpentry, roofing, and welding techniques is advantageous
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and building plans accurately
- Previous experience working on residential or commercial construction sites is preferred
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations within the construction industry
- Have a mode of transport and be able to get to sites.
- Own tools useful.
