-
Monitor project performance, expenditure, risks and programme delivery, providing regular reports and recommendations to senior leaders.
-
Ensure all projects comply with Construction (Design and Management) Regulations (CDM), Health & Safety legislation and other statutory requirements.
-
Work closely with colleagues across the College to ensure projects support teaching, learning and operational priorities whilst minimising disruption.
-
Support delivery of the College's Estates Strategy, Sustainability Strategy and Net Zero ambitions through innovative capital investment.
-
Champion continuous improvement, capturing lessons learned and embedding best practice across future capital projects.
We are seeking an experienced and credible project professional with the ability to successfully manage complex capital projects within a regulated environment.
You will ideally have:
-
A degree or equivalent professional qualification in Project Management, Construction, Building Surveying, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Estates Management or a related discipline.
-
A recognised Project Management qualification (such as PRINCE2 Practitioner, APM PMQ or equivalent).
-
Significant experience delivering capital, construction or major refurbishment projects from inception through to completion.
-
Experience managing consultants, contractors and professional advisers.
-
Strong financial and commercial awareness, including project budgeting, procurement and contract management.
-
Excellent knowledge of project governance, programme management and risk management.
-
Sound understanding of Construction (Design and Management) Regulations (CDM), Health & Safety legislation and statutory compliance.
-
Excellent communication, stakeholder management and influencing skills, with the ability to build strong working relationships across a diverse organisation.
-
A proactive, organised and solutions-focused approach, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
