About The Role
We are inviting applications to join our dedicated nursing team within the In‑Patient Unit at Strathcarron Hospice. As an Auxiliary Nurse, you will play an important part in delivering high‑quality, compassionate palliative care to patients and their families.
Working as part of a supportive and experienced multidisciplinary team, you will help provide comfort, dignity and personalised care to people living with progressive illness. The role involves a variety of clinical and supportive tasks, contributing to a calm, safe and person‑centred environment.
This is a rotational post and includes a range of shift patterns, including nights and weekends. Examples of the 30 hour per week shift pattern is included in the job pack which can be found on our website.
The post is subject to a Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) Scheme check.
What We’re Looking For
We are seeking highly motivated, caring and enthusiastic individuals who are committed to delivering exceptional patient care.
You should bring:
- An understanding of palliative care and an awareness of the services provided by Strathcarron Hospice
- Well‑developed communication and interpersonal skills
- Confidence in supporting patients and families coping with the effects of progressive disease
- The ability to maintain accurate, relevant clinical records
- Flexibility and resilience to respond to the varied demands of the role
- The ability to multitask and work effectively as part of a team
- Basic computer skills (desirable)
- Previous nursing or care experience (desirable)
