We are a rapidly growing company in the Energy Efficiency sector, delivering retrofit solutions into communities in the Midlands to improve the energy efficiency of homes.
Based on Phoenix Park near Nottingham, we are looking for a Retrofit Designer to join our team to support the PAS20325 process from a design perspective.
You will be responsible for a broad spectrum of activities ranging from creating Retrofit Designs for domestic properties, engaging with installers on the ground to guide compliant installations, engaging technical teams at product suppliers and submitting planning applications to Local Authorities.
We are looking for a recent graduate with an architectural or built environment background, someone who is familiar with building physics and has experience using software tools such as AutoCAD and InDesign. RESPONSIBILITIES
Retrofit Designs
· Create PAS2035 compliant design templates for all Energy Efficiency Measures delivered by Community Home Solutions and it’s partners. Coordinating individual measure designs into the whole home package. This can include wall insulation (solid and cavity), roof insulation, heating and solar photovoltaics & batteries.
· Review and interpret property specific RdSAP reports to understand the existing building fabric in advance of commencing design; engage with internal and external stakeholders for clarification.
· Produce technical drawings including floor plans and thermal bridging details in AutoCAD.
· Prioritise workload to align with the scheduled pipeline, considering Internal stakeholders, Installers and customer availability.
· Understand and maintain knowledge of industry developments in regard to Retrofit Design, PAS2035, PAS2030:2023 and RdSAP.
· Maintain and continually develop internal design templates.
Stakeholder Management
· Manage relationships with Installation Operatives, Retrofit Coordinators and Retrofit Assessors.
· Manage relationships with supplier technical teams; seeking subject matter expert support on technical designs as required.
· Manage internal stakeholder relationships, advising on technical requirements to assist with customer conversations.
Local Planning Permission & Approvals
· Support the Planning Permission and Approvals process for Community Home Solutions. This includes submitting planning applications, liaising with stakeholders at Local Authorities as well as households as necessary.
· Develop relationships with Local Authority planning teams to understand specific needs and requirements for each of the core councils we work with.
Energy Efficiency Measure and Product Knowledge
· Develop technical understanding of all Energy Efficiency Measures and Products delivered by Community Home Solutions. Develop guides to be used internally to ensure the wider team can effectively communicate the technical elements of the Measures.
· Understand and communicate internally the technical requirements of PAS2035 and Building Regulations (Part F, G, L and P specifically). Maintain understanding of any planned industry developments in these areas.
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE and QUALIFICATIONS
· Essential: Degree in architectural related field, built environment or similar
· Essential: Experience with Adobe InDesign, AutoCAD and Adobe Photoshop
· Desirable: Experience in domestic retrofit and the application of PAS 2035
· Strong Microsoft Office Skills; Excel specifically
· Attention to detail, accuracy and effective organisational skills
· Effective communication skills
· Ability to work under pressure and prioritise workloads
· Flexible attitude
Pay: £26,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
