Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated Trainee Garden Machinery Technician to join our team. This entry-level role offers an excellent opportunity to develop technical skills and gain hands-on experience in garden machinery repair and maintenance. The position is paid and suitable for individuals eager to learn about mechanical systems, tools, and equipment used in garden machinery servicing. The successful candidate will receive comprehensive training and support to progress within the field.

Responsibilities

Assist experienced technicians in diagnosing faults and repairing garden machinery such as lawnmowers, hedge trimmers, chainsaws, and other outdoor power tools
Learn to use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively during repair processes
Conduct routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning, oiling, and replacing parts under supervision
Follow safety protocols at all times when handling equipment and tools
Maintain a clean and organised workspace to ensure efficient workflow
Support inventory management by assisting with the organisation of parts and tools
Attend training sessions to develop technical knowledge and practical skills

Experience

No prior experience necessary; however, a keen interest in mechanical systems or gardening equipment is desirable
Basic understanding of mechanical concepts is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided
Familiarity with hand tools and power tools is a plus but not required, as full training will be given
Strong attention to detail, willingness to learn, and good organisational skills are essential for success in this role
