Working with clients in the Southwest Peninsula of UK (Cornwall, Devon, Somerset, Dorset)
Due to continued growth, we are seeking a qualified and motivated Fire Safety Inspector / Assessor to join our expanding Fire Safety Team.
This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a rapidly developing compliance consultancy, working independently but supported remotely by an experienced fire risk management team to deliver high-quality inspections, assessments, and consultancy services. Our work primarily supports clients within the Holiday lets, Sports facilities, Bars, Social housing, Education centres, Care & Medical premises, social centres, although projects may extend across a wide range of property types.

About the Role
This is a home-based position requiring regular travel to client sites and attending meeting & training online.
The role is to support clients by visiting their premises in the Southwest Peninsula of the UK (Cornwall, Devon, Somerset, Dorset)
You will be responsible for providing practical, proportionate, and commercially aware fire safety advice, helping clients meet their legal obligations while maintaining a common-sense approach to risk management.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct fire risk assessments and site audits across a variety of premises.
- Produce clear, accurate, and professional technical reports in our company format.
- Identify fire safety deficiencies and provide appropriate remedial recommendations.
- Deliver written and verbal fire safety advice to clients.
- Support clients in achieving compliance with current fire safety legislation, standards, and guidance.
- Survey fire doors and passive fire protection/fire stopping systems, both pre- and post-installation.
- Carry out quality audits of fire risk assessments.
- Attend client meetings and represent the company professionally when required.
What We're Looking For
The successful candidate will:
- Hold relevant fire safety qualifications.
- Have experience conducting fire risk assessments and fire safety inspections.
- Possess a strong understanding of current fire safety legislation and guidance.
- Have experience inspecting fire doors and passive fire protection measures.
- Demonstrate excellent report-writing and communication skills.
- Be able to work independently and manage their own workload effectively.
- Adopt a practical, proportionate, and common-sense approach to fire safety compliance.
- Hold a full UK driving licence and be willing to travel regularly.
Desirable Experience
- Social housing sector experience.
- Education sector experience.
- Fire door surveying qualifications.
- Passive fire protection inspection experience.
- Quality assurance or auditing of fire risk assessments.
- Membership of a recognised professional fire safety body.
