Day shifts are a mixture of 8am - 5pm, 8.30am–5.30pm or 9am-6pm and include anaesthetics, nurse consults and general duties. Lunch is an hour unpaid break. Shifts are 8 working hours. We aim to produce a fair day and night rota for the whole nursing team.
OOH:
- We proudly offer our own OOH service. This ensures a continuity of care for our inpatients and involves pragmatic triage of emergency calls overnight. There are always nurses & vets on call every night 365 days a year to provide help and advice.
- OOH shifts are both paid for and time off is given pre and post-shift. Our night shifts begin at 1pm, and end at 10am the following morning but both days are paid as a normal 8 hour day as well as a retainer fee paid to be on site overnight. . Our shifts are sleeping shifts, therefore if there are no inpatients our Nurses are able to spend time in the flat/bedroom located within the Practice.
- When working a weekend, time off is provided on the Monday and the following Friday, to facilitate a long weekend off work.
The Practice:
South Moor vets consist of four branches. We are looking for RVNs for our Ivybridge, Kingsbridge & Dartington branches. Our branches have multiple consult rooms, operating theatre, DR x-ray, ultrasound and in-house lab. Our Ivybridge branch also has facilities for CT scans, dental x-rays, endoscopy and orthopaedic surgery.
The Team:
South Moor Vets are proud to boast an experienced team who enjoy a good work life balance. We have Dartmoor and the beach on our doorstep. Lots of our team are into surfing, horse riding, checking out the local pubs and making the most of the beautiful South Hams. We have a friendly team environment to work in with excellent peer support. Many of our vets are certificate holders meaning we refer very little so most cases are treated in house.
Our target is to ensure job satisfaction for the team as well as a great experience for our clients. We are happy to help people to explore their particular interests. The main aim is to continue to keep the team happy!
