Warehouse Support & Driver
Full-time | £27,000 per annum | In person | SL4 6QY
Biltong Boss is a fast-growing premium meat-snacking business. We are looking for a dependable, hands-on and highly organised Warehouse Support & Driver to become a genuine long-term part of the business.
This is not a role for someone looking to do the bare minimum. We need someone who takes ownership, follows processes properly, spots problems before they become bigger issues and approaches each day with a practical, solution-focused attitude.
You will be trusted with stock, orders, driving, deliveries, market preparation and the day-to-day standards that keep the business running. Accuracy, reliability, flexibility and consistency are non-negotiable.
The Role
You will support the day-to-day warehouse, driving and operational functions of the business, with particular responsibility for:
- Packing stock for customer orders, markets, storage and events
- Preparing, maintaining and organising market kit boxes and till boxes
- Ensuring correct stock rotation and product handling procedures are followed
- Assisting with goods received, labelling, put-away and general warehouse organisation
- Supporting stock counts, reconciliations and investigations into discrepancies
- Maintaining accurate order, stock and fulfilment records
- Preparing order paperwork and coordinating dispatches with delivery partners
- Processing orders across our Website, Amazon, Fresho and other sales channels
- Driving company vehicles for deliveries, collections and operational requirements
- Delivering stock and equipment to key markets
- Collecting stock, equipment and materials from key markets
- Setting up market stalls where required
- Supporting market and event preparation from the warehouse
- Providing driver cover when our regular weekend driver is unavailable, usually around once per month
- Preparing task sheets, checklists and operational documents
- Completing weekly van checks for cleanliness, equipment and basic readiness
- Monitoring consumables, packaging and operational supplies
- Maintaining clean, safe and organised office, warehouse, stockroom, van and storage areas
- Supporting delivery collections, drop-offs and other reasonable operational tasks as required
No job is too big or too small in this role. Some days will involve focused warehouse and admin work; others will involve early-morning driving, market set-up, packing boxes, checking stock, cleaning equipment or solving an unexpected operational issue.
What We Need From You
We are looking for someone who is:
- Reliable, committed and genuinely wants to grow with a business
- Practical, proactive and able to think on their feet
- Highly accurate, methodical and comfortable with repetitive tasks
- Able to follow SOPs and instructions precisely, while adapting calmly when circumstances change
- Solution-oriented: someone who flags issues early and looks for a way forward
- Comfortable taking ownership and working independently when needed
- Driven, hardworking and proud of doing things properly
- Organised, punctual and dependable
- Comfortable in a fast-paced, hands-on warehouse and market environment
- Confident driving vans and working to time-sensitive schedules
You must have a strong command of written and spoken English. You will need to communicate clearly and professionally in person, on the phone and in writing.
You must also have:
- A valid, clean UK driving licence
- Be over the age of 21, in line with company vehicle insurance requirements
Skills and Experience
- Valid UK driving licence essential
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good written communication and record-keeping skills
- Experience with stock systems, order processing or warehouse administration is advantageous
- Experience driving vans or completing business deliveries is advantageous
- Experience working to set processes, checklists and standards is preferred
Hours and Availability
This is a full-time, site-based position of 48 hours per week, worked across Monday to Saturday.
Your regular hours will generally be fixed once agreed. However, the business operates in a fast-moving environment, so flexibility is essential during busy periods, events, bank holidays and operational requirements.
Saturdays are a non-negotiable part of this role and shifts do finish late. Applicants must be fully available to work Saturdays on an ongoing basis.
You must also be able to work early mornings and late nights when required, particularly where driving, deliveries, market set-up, collections, events or driver cover are needed.
Due to the nature of the role and the importance of consistency during onboarding, we cannot accommodate pre-booked annual leave during the first six months of employment, except in genuinely exceptional circumstances. Please do not apply if you already have time away planned during this period.
