An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Assistant Operations Manager to lead the safe and efficient day-to-day operation of a Dounreay facility. You will be responsible for operational performance, compliance, governance and team leadership, ensuring activities are delivered safely and effectively while supporting the successful delivery of site projects and programmes.

As a Assistant Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the safe and efficient day-to-day operation of the facility, supporting project delivery, maintaining regulatory compliance, and leading teams to achieve operational excellence. You'll work closely with a range of stakeholders, helping to drive performance while ensuring nuclear safety, security, and environmental standards remain at the forefront of everything you do.
What You'll Be Doing
- Lead the safe and effective management of facility operations, ensuring compliance with safety, security, environmental and regulatory requirements.
- Support the successful delivery of projects and programmes by managing risks, monitoring performance, and resolving operational challenges.
- Provide strong governance and oversight, ensuring activities, documentation and approvals are managed in line with site arrangements and standards.
- Develop and lead teams, building capability, supporting succession planning, and fostering a positive safety-focused culture.
What You'll Bring
- Leadership experience within a highly regulated operational, engineering, industrial or nuclear environment.
- Strong knowledge of safety, compliance and governance requirements, with a commitment to operational excellence.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate at all levels.
- A proactive and solutions-focused approach, with proven experience managing performance, risks and continuous improvement.
