The Packaging Data Administrator is responsible for the accurate collection, input, management and reporting of specification data related to all product packaging materials.
By maintaining meticulous master data integrity, this role bridges the gap between procurement, NPD, and regulatory compliance, enabling the company to track and achieve its customer and regulatory reporting commitments.
Key responsibilities:
1. Packaging Data Collection & Reporting
Lead the collection, validation, management, and reporting of packaging data required for customer and regulatory reporting.
- Ensure all regulatory submissions are accurate, complete, and submitted within required timescales.
- Support internal and external audits relating to packaging compliance and environmental reporting.
2. Packaging Data Management & Governance
- Maintain the centralised packaging database covering all primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging components.
- Develop robust processes to ensure packaging data remains accurate, current, and aligned with packaging specifications.
- Create governance procedures for packaging data collection, ownership, validation, and change management.
- Manage packaging master data, including material composition, recycled content, weights, recyclability attributes, and supplier information.
Ensure packaging data is readily available to support regulatory reporting, customer requests, sustainability reporting, and internal decision-making.
3. Customer & Commercial Support
- Coordinate the provision of packaging data required by retail and foodservice customers, particularly for own-label products.
- Support Commercial and Technical teams in responding to customer packaging questionnaires, sustainability requests, and compliance enquiries.
- Ensure consistency between regulatory submissions and customer disclosures.
Skills and Experience Required:
- At least two years' experience inputting numerical data.
- High competency in Microsoft Excel / managing data in spreadsheets.
- Exceptional precision in data entry, recognising that minor discrepancies can result in significant financial or regulatory non-compliance.
- Clear and collaborative verbal and written communication skills (in English).
Desirable
- Strong root-cause analysis skills to investigate and resolve data anomalies or conflicting supplier disclosures.
- Experience managing product or packaging data within a manufacturing, FMCG, food, or consumer goods environment.
- Experience or working knowledge of UK Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) reporting and / or Plastic Packaging Tax reporting requirements.
Hours of Work:
20 hours per week.
Flexibility around days and hours per day can be discussed at interview.
£27,500 pro rata.
