We are looking for a motivated and hardworking Accounts Assistant to join our team. Based in the estate office and reporting to our Accounts Manager, this role is a fantastic opportunity to join our friendly team and contribute to the continued modernisation of the estate and our ways of working.
About the Role:
While we have outlined the main duties of the role below, due to ongoing change within the estate there is ample opportunity to make this role your own as we streamline and modernise our business practices.
Main Duties will include:
- General office administration duties including filing, data entry, and answering phone calls.
- Front of house at our estate office.
- Prepare and process invoices.
- Assist with payroll processing and financial reporting.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date accounts records (Xero and Dext).
- Process VAT returns.
- Management of creditors statements.
- Debtor management.
- Liaise with tenants about rents or invoice queries.
- Assisting with office duties as required.
- Any other ad-hoc duties as requested.
Based at our estate office near Lockerbie,
Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week,

Required Experience:
- Experience working in a busy, quick-paced office environment.
- Experience using MS Office applications, particularly excel.
- Experience working within an accounts team.
Preferable Experience:
- Degree or equivalent qualification in accounting or bookkeeping.
- Experience assisting with payroll.
- Experience working with accounting systems such as Xero, Quickbooks or Sage. Our team use Xero and Dext, so while experience of these softwares would be useful, full training will be provided,

Set in the beautiful rolling countryside of Southwest Scotland, Castlemilk and Corrie Estates is a historic family-owned and managed estate around the town of Lockerbie in Dumfriesshire. The estate extends to around 28,000 acres with tenanted farms, residential properties, commercial premises and around 5,000 acres of forestry as its core activities.
