Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical and electrical knowledge, with the ability to maintain and repair various systems and equipment. This role requires excellent problem-solving skills, the ability to read schematics, and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service. As a Maintenance Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities and equipment.

Responsibilities

- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance of equipment to identify any issues or potential problems
- Perform repairs and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical malfunctions
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to minimise equipment breakdowns
- Supervise and coordinate maintenance activities with external contractors as needed
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities, including repairs, replacements, and inspections
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth operations and address any maintenance-related concerns
- Provide technical support and guidance to other team members as needed

-Adhere to quality standards set by the company and external bodies e.g. BRC.

- Adhere to Health and Safety, Hygiene and security procedures.

Experience:
- Strong mechanical knowledge and experience in maintaining industrial equipment
- Experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) is highly desirable
- Welding experience is a plus
- Excellent troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve equipment malfunctions
- Strong communication skills to interact with staff effectively
- Exceptional customer service skills to interact with internal stakeholders

Requirements:
- Fluency in English (both written and verbal)
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong attention to detail and excellent problem-solving abilities
- Flexibility with working hours if necessary

This position is day shift -

Mon-Fri 6.45am - 4pm

with a three-weekly rotation for Saturdays

You will be entitled to a shift day the week you work Saturday.

Pay is extremely competitve and will be discussed at interview.
