As part of our continued growth and expansion, we are currently recruiting for a Support Services Operative to join our team.
The successful applicant will report directly to the department team leader.
Job Purpose
The Support Service Operative provides essential assistance to the service and operations teams, ensuring the efficient maintenance, repair, and support of hydraulic systems and equipment. The role supports engineers and technicians by preparing equipment, maintaining a safe and organised working environment, and delivering high standards of customer service.
Duties
- Check Work in Progress (WIP) trolleys and load essential kits to ensure correct material allocation and schedule adherence.
- Relocate empty trolleys promptly to the designated area following assembly operations to maintain operational flow and workspace organisation.
- Provide support to the Stores and Goods In departments as required.
- Assist with unloading & storage of raw materials ensuring safe handling and good housekeeping.
- Support the Quality & Aftersales departments ensuring accuracy and compliance with internal processes.
- Empty swarf skips twice daily to maintain cleanliness and health and safety standards.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and identify opportunities to reduce waste and enhance operational efficiency.
- Respond to requests for miscellaneous parts and tools as required.
- Provide general departmental support to help achieve production targets.
- Communicate clearly and professionally in English, handling enquiries courteously and efficiently.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues and internal stakeholders to deliver a seamless, high-quality service.
- Any other duties, within reason & capability, as agreed with management.

Requirements
- Full training will be provided to the successful candidate however, candidates should possess:
- Full UK Driving License is essential
- Ability to maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Mechanical aptitude and analytical thinker with the ability to solve problems.
- Ability to read & accurately interpret engineering drawings.
- Verbal/written communication skills.
- Work both independently and as part of a team.
- Meticulous eye for detail.
- Organised with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently
DESIRABLE CRITERIA
- Previous experience in the precision engineering sector is beneficial
- Experience within the hydraulics sector is preferred

Pay: £24,420.00-£32,000.00 per year
