We're looking for a Timetable Planning Lead to take ownership of the planning, development, and delivery of our network timetables, ensuring they are efficient, resilient, and meet the needs of our customers and communities.
Reporting to the Head of the Integrated Operations Control Centre (IOCC), you'll lead a specialist team responsible for delivering seasonal and service change timetables, balancing customer demand, operational capability, fleet availability, and stakeholder requirements. You'll work across the business and with external stakeholders to ensure our timetables are accurate, achievable, and aligned with our strategic commitments.
What you'll be doing
- Leading the development, governance, and publication of CalMac's timetables.
- Managing and developing a high-performing timetable planning team.
- Using data, demand trends, and operational insight to shape future timetable options.
- Building strong relationships with Area Managers, communities, and key stakeholders.
- Coordinating inputs from multiple departments to deliver robust and reliable service plans.
- Driving continuous improvement, innovation, and best practice in timetable planning.
- Lead root cause analysis for timetable related issues and implement corrective actions.
What we're looking for
You'll bring extensive experience of working within the transport industry with strong knowledge of scheduling, timetable planning, or a similar operational planning environment, coupled with strong leadership, analytical thinking, and stakeholder management skills. You'll be an excellent communicator, capable of balancing competing priorities and making informed decisions that support both operational performance and customer needs.
