An Apple Pressing Assistant is required to work at Oxford Farmhouse, our apple & pear pressing business close to Oxford, to help with fruit from pressing through to bottling.
Hours
You will be required to work Wednesday to Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm. This role is on a seasonal fixed-term basis for 10 weeks to start on 19th Aug– the exact dates will depend on when the apple harvest occurs and may finish early if the fruit quantity drops off later in the season. The weekly hours are also dependent upon the size of harvest through the season.
You will need to make your way to the farm in Horton-cum-Studley - there is very limited public transport to the village.
Duties
There are two roles which will include a mixture of the following:
· Receiving donated fruit
· Grading, milling & pressing fruit
· Bottling & pasteurising juice
· Storing & labelling filled bottles
· Setting up equipment in the morning & cleaning at the end of the day
· You will be working with volunteers, including people with mental health challenges.
There may be other ad-hoc tasks. All duties will be carried out meeting required quality standards, achieving daily production targets and working in a safe manner.

· Good work ethic and team spirit
· As this is a food production process, good personal hygiene is essential
· Prior experience with apple pressing is not necessary
· The job is physical and includes lifting
