Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Sewing Machinist to join our Covers department. In this role, you will be responsible for operating industrial sewing machines to produce high-quality swimming pool covers. Your experience will ensure that each piece meets our rigorous standards for craftsmanship, durability, and precision.
Responsibilities
- To manufacture products in accordance with instructions detailed on works orders and approved drawings.
- Operate various industrial sewing machines (single, double and triple needle) such as overlock and flatbed machines to manufacture swimming pool covers.
- To work with a variety of materials and threads, using various sewing techniques such as lock stitching and hemming.
- Inspect finished products for quality, ensuring seams are secure, stitches are even, and overall craftsmanship meets company standards.
- Adjust machine settings and troubleshoot issues promptly to minimise downtime.
- Maintain a clean and organised and efficient workspace, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
Skills Required
- Proven experience operating industrial sewing machines (single, double and triple needle) in a manufacturing or textile environment.
- Strong sewing skills with an eye for detail and quality control
- Ability to understand works orders and drawings.
Hours/Benefits
- 6 month temporary contract. Possibility of a permanent contract on successful completion of the temporary contract.
- Rate of pay from £13.00 per hour dependent upon experience
- 39 hours per week - 8am to 5pm Monday to Thursday and 8am to 1pm Friday.
