Jevington Ward is a busy, acute and dynamic 28 bedded Medical Ward that specialises in General Medicine. The team is both friendly and supportive, with a strong commitment to providing a high standard of care .

We are looking for a pleasant and caring Ward Clerk to join our efficient and professional team at Eastbourne District General Hospital. You will have experience of dealing with the general public, be able to manage difficult situations. The team on the ward is both friendly and supportive, with a strong commitment to providing a high standard of care.

If you have an ability to work calmly under pressure and feel you meet the following requirements: -

A good communicator and enjoy meeting people.
Possess a polite and caring manner.
Have a good sense of humour.
Able to prioritise own workload.
If you are computer literate, Keyboard skills an advantage, but training will be given.

The post holder’s primary focus will be the timely handling of reception duties and interaction with members of the public and colleagues. Responding to and taking action to resolve queries with pace and tact. Responsible for ensuring patient records are available and electronic patient tracking systems are kept up to date in line with Trust policy.
As a core member of the team the post holder will provide a comprehensive and quality administrative and clerical function to support the smooth day to day running of the clinical area.
