Maintenance Technician – Umega Home Repairs

Join the Umega Home Repairs Team!

Umega Home Repairs is growing, and we’re looking for a skilled and reliable Maintenance Technician to join our team in Edinburgh.

We look after a large portfolio of properties, helping our tenants and landlords keep their homes in tip-top condition. No two days are the same, and this role would suit someone who enjoys practical, hands-on work and is confident tackling a variety of maintenance jobs.

You could be repairing a leaking tap in the morning, assembling furniture in the afternoon, carrying out some basic joinery or decorating, and finishing the day with a few general repairs.

We’re looking for someone with a good all-round maintenance skill set who is resourceful, takes pride in their work and has a practical “let’s figure it out” attitude.

You'll be part of a friendly and supportive team, with everything you need to do the job properly, including a company van, tools, uniform and smartphone.

Typical jobs could include:

General DIY and property maintenance
Basic plumbing repairs
Basic electrical maintenance
Basic joinery and carpentry
Furniture assembly and installation
Basic painting and decorating, including touch-ups and making good
Replacing fixtures, fittings and hardware
Carrying out general repairs around properties
Identifying issues and finding practical solutions
Communicating with tenants and keeping them updated on work
Working alongside our wider maintenance team to keep properties in great condition

What We’re Looking For:

A solid DIY skill set and experience in property maintenance
Experience with basic plumbing, electrical maintenance and joinery
Basic painting and decorating skills
Someone who is resourceful, proactive and able to think on their feet
A customer-focused approach – communication is key when working in people's homes
Someone who takes pride in their work and cares about the quality of the finish
A team player who enjoys a varied and fast-paced working environment
Good organisational skills and the ability to manage your own workload
A willingness to learn and develop new skills
Basic IT and smartphone/app skills
A clean, full UK driving licence (essential)
