Full job description

Overview

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality support to individuals in care homes or receiving home care services, ensuring their comfort, safety, and wellbeing. This role offers an opportunity to make a positive difference in people's lives through attentive and personalised care.

Duties

Assist clients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and mobility support
Support clients in maintaining their independence and dignity
Follow individual care plans to deliver tailored care services
Provide companionship and emotional support to clients
Help with meal preparation and feeding as required
Maintain accurate records of care provided and any changes in client condition
Ensure a safe and clean environment for clients at all times
Communicate effectively with clients, families, and team members regarding care needs and progress
Utilise IT systems to update records and manage schedules efficiently

Requirements

Previous experience working in a care home or providing home care is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for those new to the sector
Valid driving licence is preferred to facilitate client transportation when necessary
Good communication skills in English, both verbal and written
Ability to use IT systems confidently for record keeping and communication purposes
Excellent interpersonal skills with a caring and empathetic approach
Strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Flexibility to work shifts as required, including weekends if needed
