Job Summary

Join our dynamic team as a Trainee Painter and Decorator, where you will embark on an exciting journey into the world of construction painting and decorating. This paid training position offers a fantastic opportunity to develop essential skills, gain practical experience, and build a solid foundation for a rewarding career in the trade. Under close supervision, you will learn to prepare surfaces, apply paints and finishes, and assist with various decorating projects across residential and commercial sites. If you’re eager to learn, motivated to grow, and ready to contribute to high-quality craftsmanship, this role is perfect for you!

Duties

Assist experienced painters and decorators in preparing surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and filling imperfections
Learn to apply primers, paints, varnishes, and wallpapers using appropriate tools and techniques
Support the team in setting up work areas safely and efficiently before each project
Follow instructions carefully to ensure high standards of finish and attention to detail
Help with maintaining tools and equipment in excellent condition for ongoing use
Observe safety procedures at all times to ensure a secure working environment
Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to coordinate tasks smoothly

Skills

Valid driving license is preferred to support transportation between sites
Basic understanding of construction painting techniques or willingness to learn on the job
Proficiency in English for clear communication with team members and clients
Strong communication skills to ask questions, follow instructions, and work collaboratively
Motivated attitude with a keen eye for detail and quality workmanship
Ability to follow safety guidelines diligently in a busy construction environment
Eagerness to develop new skills through hands-on training and mentorship
