Full job description

Job Summary

We are seeking a passionate and skilled Pastry & Breakfast Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and presenting a variety of breakfast dishes and baked goods, ensuring high standards of quality, taste, and presentation. This role offers an exciting opportunity to showcase your culinary talents in a vibrant, customer-focused environment. The successful applicant will possess a strong background in food production and preparation, with a particular emphasis on baking and breakfast cuisine. Previous experience in a restaurant or hospitality setting is highly desirable.

Duties

Prepare and cook a range of breakfast dishes, including eggs, pancakes, pastries, and other specialised items.
Create and bake a variety of baked goods such as bread, muffins, scones, and desserts.
Ensure all food is prepared in accordance with food safety standards and hygiene regulations.
Assist in menu development by suggesting new breakfast items and pastry creations.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area at all times.
Monitor stock levels of ingredients and notify management when supplies need replenishing.
Collaborate with team members to deliver excellent service and optimise kitchen operations.
Follow recipes accurately to ensure consistency in taste and presentation.
Support the wider culinary team during busy periods or special events.

Skills

Proven experience in food production, food preparation, cooking, baking, or culinary roles within a professional kitchen environment.
Strong knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices.
Excellent skills in kitchen organisation and time management to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
Ability to work under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
Creative flair for developing new pastry recipes and breakfast menus.
Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Previous restaurant or hospitality experience is preferred but not essential for highly motivated candidates eager to learn.
