About the Role

Ambrose Avenue Group Practice is looking for a friendly, organised, and professional care navigator/receptionist to join our busy GP practice team, on either a full or part-time basis. We can be flexible with the number of hours to be worked, but they will be within our surgery hours, 07:45 - 18:30.

The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for patients and visitors, providing a kind and caring service to our patients and administrative support to ensure the smooth running of the practice.

Key Responsibilities

Welcoming patients and visitors in a courteous and professional manner
Answering telephone calls and responding to patient enquiries
Booking, amending, and cancelling appointments
Managing patient records and updating information accurately
Handling confidential information sensitively
Using the new online Anima booking system
Liaising with GPs, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
Carrying out general administrative and reception duties

About the Candidate

General practice is a challenging environment that requires a calm and caring approach with the ability to work under pressure. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated team player who has customer service/patient experience and excellent communication skills.

Ability to work in a polite, confidential and discreet manner
Experience of working with the general public
Ability to work as part of a team
Strong IT and administration skills
Previous medical or healthcare receptionist experience is desirable
Strong organisational and multitasking abilities
Ability to work calmly in a busy environment
Previous reception or customer service experience preferred
