Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Route Planner & Transport Manager to join our logistics team! In this vital role, you will be responsible for designing efficient delivery routes, optimising transportation schedules and ensuring timely deliveries across various locations. Your proactive management and strategic planning will help streamline operations, reduce costs, and enhance customer satisfaction. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and possess excellent organizational skills, this is your opportunity to make a significant impact in our supply chain operations.

Duties

Plan and implement daily delivery routes using advanced logistics software
Coordinate with drivers, warehouse staff, sales and management to ensure smooth execution of daily routes
Monitor real-time delivery progress and adjust plans as needed to address traffic, weather or other unforeseen challenges
Manage our drivers and small fleet of vans and HGVs
Communicate effectively with customers to clarify and confirm delivery times and resolve any scheduling issues
Manage and analyse customer delivery preferences and route performance data to identify opportunities for efficiency improvements and cost savings
Lead and support team members in managing logistics operations with clear communication and leadership skills

Qualifications

Experience in logistics or supply chain roles with a focus on route planning or transportation coordination
Familiarity with vehicle safety regulations
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively in a fast-paced environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel
Exceptional communication skills to liaise confidently with team members, drivers, and customers
Leadership qualities with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail
