An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Microsoft 365 Team for an ICT Engineer (Microsoft 365). This role will support Durham County Councils Business Process Review (BPR) programme, helping services identify opportunities to work more efficiently through the better use of Microsoft 365 and digital technologies. You will work directly with service teams across the Council, supporting digital transformation, service improvement and the adoption of modern ways of working.
Working with teams across the Council, you will support digital transformation initiatives, help colleagues adopt new ways of working and provide technical advice, training and support to maximise the benefits of Microsoft 365 solutions.
You will play an important role in helping services realise the benefits of digital technologies, supporting the implementation of improvements, delivering training and assisting with the testing and adoption of new solutions.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking team helping to deliver practical digital improvements that make a real difference to staff, residents and services across the Council.
This vacancy is temporary for 3 years from start date in post.
WHAT IS INVOLVED?
As an ICT Engineer within the Microsoft 365 Team, you will work alongside service teams, transformation colleagues and digital professionals to support the delivery of improvements arising from Business Process Reviews.
You will:
- Help identify opportunities to improve services through the use of Microsoft 365 and digital technologies.
- Provide technical support, guidance and training to colleagues across the organisation.
- Work closely with stakeholders across the organisation to ensure solutions meet business needs and deliver measurable benefits.
- Support the implementation of digital solutions and service improvements.
- Assist with testing and user adoption activities for new solutions and ways of working.

WHAT WILL I NEED?
You should hold an NVQ Level 4 qualification (or equivalent) in Information Technology, Digital Technologies, Business Systems or a related discipline, or be able to demonstrate substantial relevant experience.
You will have significant experience of supporting Microsoft 365 technologies and helping users make effective use of tools such as Teams, SharePoint, OneDrive, Forms, Lists and other Microsoft 365 services.
You should have experience of delivering training and guidance to a wide range of audiences, providing excellent customer support and helping colleagues adopt new technologies and ways of working
Experience of ICT maintenance, support and installation, along with the ability to troubleshoot issues and deliver practical solutions, is essential.
You will be a strong communicator with excellent organisational skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. A commitment to customer service and continuous improvement is essential.
Experience of Microsoft 365 administration, developing e-learning resources or supporting digital solutions within a large organisation would be advantageous.
