Location: Gillingham

Salary: £13.45 per hour - 7.5-hour shifts

Job type: (Flexi Bank Worker)

Pembroke House is a purpose-built care home for veterans of the Royal Navy and Royal Marines in Gillingham. We have been serving Royal Navy and Royal Marines veterans and their dependants for over 70 years. Our residents and staff enjoy a varied yet familiar way of life to encourage independence and give each day meaning and purpose. The home has a ‘family-run’ feel and we have carefully created a supportive, friendly and close-knit team, making it a unique and very special place to work.

The Job Role

Ensure high standards of cleanliness and hygiene are maintained throughout the home in line with Health & Safety guidelines
Day-to-day delivery of excellence in Infection Control to ensure a clean and maintained environment

Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

To provide residents with clean accommodation, linen and personal laundry as required

To ensuring walkways are clean and tidy and clear of clutter

To work within Health and Safety guidelines and policies

To have an awareness of COSHH responsibilities

Monitor supplies of cleaning products, and PPE and report to the housekeeping supervisor

To ensure that all mechanical and other equipment is used as per manufacturer’s instructions and stored in a safe and clean condition

To ensure that cleaning schedules and policies are adhered to

Complete all appropriate records as required

Identify and report any maintenance issues or repairs needed within the home

Carry out any other reasonable instructions of the Home Manager

The Person

This role would suit someone who is naturally dependable, compassionate and trustworthy. They should be able to empathise with the needs of the residents, have patience and understanding and above all be kind and caring. They will need to be flexible, enthusiastic and uses their own initiative.
