The Role & Responsibilities

The Accounts Payable assistant role will be supporting the day-to-day processing of supplier invoices, expenses and payments, ensuring transactions are recorded accurately and efficiently, and suppliers are paid on time.

Key Responsibilities

Process and accurately record supplier invoices and credit notes.
Match invoices to purchase orders and delivery documentation where applicable.
Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies and supplier queries.
Prepare supplier, staff expense and broker payment runs and ensure payments are made within agreed terms.
Reconcile supplier statements and investigate outstanding balances.
Carrying out month end tasks including bank reconciliations, prepayments and control account reconciliations.
Using basic knowledge to post journals using the correct double entry for each item.
Ensure financial transactions comply with internal policies and accounting standards.
Involvement with process improvements via automation, AI

The Person

Skills & Experience

Experience of using Proactis P2P system (or equivalent)
Experience of working in an Accounts Payable role
Team player
Experience of using SUN general ledger system (or equivalent)
Reconciliations experience
Excellent communication skills to deal effectively with internal and external stakeholders
Excellent planning and organizational skills
Enthusiastic “can do” attitude
Able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
Accuracy and attention to detail
Analytical approach with strong problem-solving skills
Establishes effective working relationships at all levels
