Job Overview

Join our Family Business in our Drive Thru team at an exciting time as we look to grow this part of the business further. The role is flexible for the right candidate, can be a shared, part-time role or can be full time. There are no evening hours, open between 7am and 4pm, and we'd offer every 2nd weekend off.

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Commis to join our kitchen team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in the drive thru as well as the main kitchen, assisting with food preparation and production while ensuring high standards of food safety and hygiene. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to develop their culinary skills in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Duties & Responsibilities

Assist in food preparation
Organise and lead the cooking of our drive thru menu
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations.
Support team management by collaborating effectively with fellow kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations.
Participate in food production activities, including chopping, mixing, and plating dishes as required.
Engage in continuous learning by taking part in training sessions related to culinary techniques and food safety practices.
Prepare a variety of menu items with attention to quality, presentation, and consistency
Assist in food prep tasks such as chopping, marinating, and portioning ingredients
Cook dishes according to established recipes and standards
Support the serving team by ensuring timely delivery of freshly prepared meals
Follow all food safety protocols to prevent contamination and ensure guest safety
Collaborate with team members to create a smooth, efficient kitchen operation

Qualifications

Previous kitchen experience is preferred, with a focus on food preparation and cooking techniques.
Culinary experience or formal training in hospitality is advantageous.
Strong understanding of food safety practices and regulations.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a team environment while managing time efficiently.
Leadership qualities that inspire collaboration among team members.
A passion for cooking and a willingness to learn from experienced chefs.
Excellent communication skills, enabling clear interaction with colleagues and supervisors
Previous experience in food preparation, cooking, or restaurant settings preferred
Strong knowledge of food safety standards and best practices
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
Excellent communication skills and a positive attitude
Basic culinary skills including meal preparation and kitchen experience required
Willingness to learn new techniques and take on diverse responsibilities
Prior experience in serving or hospitality is a plus but not mandatory
