Plan rotas and labour requirements in line with forecast order volumes, workload and agreed budgets.
Manage induction, training, probation, attendance, conduct and performance consistently, working with HR and senior management where required.
Build a culture of accountability, teamwork, pace, care and continuous improvement.
Stock control, systems and accuracy
Maintain accurate inventory through disciplined receiving, location control, replenishment, cycle counting and investigation of variances.

Health, safety and compliance
Take day-to-day ownership of a safe warehouse, ensuring risk assessments, safe systems of work, inspections and training are current and followed.
Maintain robust controls for vehicle movements, loading and unloading, work at height, manual handling, fire safety, housekeeping and warehouse equipment.
Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses, complete corrective actions and report themes to senior management.
Ensure contractors, agency workers, drivers and visitors follow site rules and are appropriately supervised.
Cost control and continuous improvement
Control warehouse labour, packaging, consumables, equipment and carrier-related costs against budget.
Use data and structured problem-solving to remove waste, simplify processes and improve throughput, accuracy and cost per order.
