About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Industrial Biomass Boiler Engineer to join our growing team. This role involves the installation, maintenance, servicing, and repair of industrial-scale biomass boiler systems. The ideal candidate will have mechanical and electrical knowledge, experience with renewable energy systems, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities

Install, commission, and maintain industrial biomass boiler systems
Diagnose faults and carry out repairs efficiently to minimise downtime
Perform routine servicing and preventative maintenance
Monitor system performance and optimise efficiency
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations
Provide technical support and guidance to clients and internal teams
Maintain accurate service records and documentation
Participate in on-call rota and respond to emergency breakdowns when required

Requirements

Proven experience working with industrial boilers (biomass experience preferred)
Mechanical and electrical engineering knowledge
Relevant engineering qualifications (e.g., NVQ, City & Guilds, HNC/HND, or equivalent)
Understanding of combustion systems, hydraulics, and control systems
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
Full UK driving licence
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Desirable Skills

Experience with renewable energy systems or sustainability projects
PLC knowledge or controls experience
Experience working in industrial or commercial environments
Health & Safety certifications (e.g., IOSH, NEBOSH)
