Job Description:

Job Overview

We are seeking a professional and reliable Class 2 HGV Driver to join our team and operate a fixed wheelbase 18 tonne vacuum tanker. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient emptying of septic tanks and be able to undertake associated cleaning and jetting. Candidates must possess a valid Class 2 licence and have previous experience in driving vacuum tankers.

Duties

Operate a vacuum tanker across the local area single handed, visiting a number of properties on a daily basis plus associated offload at designated Anglian Water sites
Complete all necessary documentation accurately, including delivery notes and vehicle logs
Conduct routine vehicle inspections before and after trips to identify any maintenance needs or safety issues
Maintain a clean and organised vehicle, ensuring it is presentable at all times
Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and team members regarding schedules or issues encountered during transit

Skills

Valid Class 2 (Category C) HGV licence with a clean driving record
Proven experience in vacuum tanker operation and a good working knowledge of private foul drainage systems, including they emptying of septic tanks.
Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for safe transportation
Excellent organisational skills to manage routes efficiently and handle paperwork accurately
Good communication skills to liaise effectively with clients and team members

This role requires a dedicated individual committed to safe driving practices, punctuality, and delivering exceptional service. The position offers an engaging work environment for experienced drivers eager to utilise their skills within a professional setting.

40 hours per week, generally between 7.30 am and 4pm.
